EV and hybrid batteries perform best within a temperature window. Thermal management keeps cells, inverter and motor in range using liquid or air cooling, and often pre-conditions the battery before fast charging so it can accept more power.
Temperature-limited power is a design feature, not a fault: a cold or hot battery limits charging and output to protect itself. Faults in pumps, coolant, valves or sensors reduce range, slow charging and set codes.
