Wiring diagrams use a small set of symbols consistently: battery, fuse, relay, switch, motor, coil, resistor, sensor and ground. Components are drawn near their function, not their physical location, so a diagram is a map of the circuit — not a picture of the car.
Every wire has a code (often a colour abbreviation and a cross-section) and every connector has pin numbers. Learn to follow three things: where power comes from, what is protected, and where the ground returns.
