What it does
- Monitors each tire pressure
- Direct sensors in the wheels or indirect via ABS
- Warns with a dashboard light
When it fails
- TPMS warning light
- Light blinks then stays on
- Pressure readings missing
How to diagnose
- Check actual pressures with a gauge
- Test the sensor battery (5–10 year life)
- Check the ABS method sensors
- Re-learn the sensors after rotation
Maintenance
- Use the door-sticker pressures
- Replace sensor batteries when dead
- Re-program after wheel changes
Use the diagnosis order. When a part fails, confirm each hypothesis with measurements before replacing anything — codes and symptoms overlap.
