Confirmed cause
Excess fuel delivered because the high-pressure pump/regulator system cannot correctly control rail pressure, over-fuelling the engine.
Reasoning
A strongly negative fuel trim means the ECU is removing fuel. A stuck-rich oxygen sensor reading with actual rail pressure above requested points to over-delivery rather than a sensor-only fault. The pump was recently replaced, making the control valve and adaptation relevant.
Recommended repair
- Verify the high-pressure pump control and pressure regulator.
- Check for correct pump part and any mechanical damage on installation.
- Clear codes, reset adaptations and verify trims and rail pressure under load.
